    Thanks Steve,

This makes me feel really, really old.
Not that I could ever do anything like this even in a parking lot.

It was really stunning, at any rate.

I do like the fact that he didn't come blasting up in an over engined clorox bottle...

And it made me feel ancient and arthritic and rheumatic... and lazy... I wish my work weeks weren't 70+ hours, 6 days per... I might have the time and energy to at least pedal around town.

Yea but he did leave the boat floating free and didn't go back to get it.

Too much Disney influence in the world.

The front flip over the wire fence was a cool trick.

I noticed that... I expected some comments on it too. That's one!

I guess one benefit of the oceans being so big is that, unlike with freeways, they don't come to a halt while everyone rubbernecks....

As I recall, those were refrigerated containers with produce for the military commissaries and local grocers on the island. In the holds were automobiles ordered by the local dealers, mail and other commodities being shipped from state side . The whole island was waiting for the ship's arrival because it had been delayed by a broken propeller shaft somewhere east of Hawaii. After it was repaired at Pearl Harbor it continued on to Wake Island and then to Guam.

You can see the refrigerator units on the ends of the containers on the far side in this image.

Food ... not a good thing to be running low on because of someone's prop.

We survived OK. :) Had to eat the local "plantain" bananas instead of those from Central America, mangoes instead of apples and peaches, papaya, sweet potatoes, taro, bread fruit, beef from New Zealand and Tinian. The worst thing is I had to reorder my new fish aquarium as the one on order went down with the ship. I suppose it was naturally stocked eventually. ;)
