Floor in the cabin

I've been hired to complete cabin of 35' steel hulled sailboat. I'm presently installing the floor. The first layer of 1/2 A/C pine plywood is going fine. I plan to finish the floor in quartered white oak. Question; what techniques are used to build up the removable panels of the finished floor?

Found out the boat is a 50'. Not a 35'.

 

Huh, how would you not realize that the first time you laid eyes on it?

 

Here's the deal. It's the first boat I've worked on in a few years, and its in warehouse. It looked pretty damn big to me but I misunderstood the owner when he told me the length. I know, stupid mistake, but I eventually would have figured it out!!

 

While you are clarifying length, what does "build up the removable panels" mean ?

Are you trying to fill in existing holes ?

 

How is it framed? steel or wood

Why did you choose the AC grade - was it availability - Is the A face going downwards, and you figured it would be easier to seal it, with the C upmost to be Oak 'planked'.

Is this a new hull or a refit - Are there clues about 'hatches' and panels from the old bearers or do you have the NAs plans?
