Cracked Console...possible to fiberglass it?

He cut out the entire face of the console that held the gauges and replaced it with some sort of wood and painted it to match the boat. Looks like it came from the factory.

I remember that job, which was a few years ago. The plastic was done, UV'd up and cracked in many places. I tried to save it, but it was simpler to just hack it out and use something else. I used a piece of meranti, that I'd epoxied, after bending into the curved shape of the gauge face. I cut the gauge holes, even moved two of them, just to be different. I wanted to go with the brushed aluminum look, but he preferred a green (if memory serves me), so it was paint. This was epoxied to the old vinyl covered gauge/dash panel housing and shipped. I don't have pictures of the panel and I'm fairly notorious for this trait. I'm glad it worked out for you Jwetsit. Scott, contact me by email (click on my name).
