In California, there are lots of formulators, but they generally don't have a big "presence" in terms of a store front. I too use use local suppliers and formulators, but it will take some leg work.

Living in a podunk town (me too) simply means you're in a third world country if you need something that Lowe's/Depot does carry. Epoxy, fabrics and supplies will likely need to be online or mail order, if just for convenience. Shop around for pricing, which will be all over the place.

Download the free "User's Guide" at westsystem.com and the "Epoxy Book" at systemthree.com for a good primer on how to work with goo and fabrics. This is an easy boat to save, but proper procedures will make the experience much easier and a more probably success story.

Lots of us served (I was army airborne) and we still managed to stumble though life (I think for the better). A common strain among "us" is to use "home" based outfits for supplies and services, even if it costs a little more than a Chinese knock off. Try bateau.com and epoxyproducts.com for goo and fabrics.

Have you considered using a roller pole & a narrow roller? You'll get resin as far up inside the shell as you like.
