I believe the Albin 25 would be better suited for the proposed long range operation if stretched with a couple of meters. Keeping the same hull form as Albin 25 but stretching it to 9 or 10 m would increase load capacity, needed for all the extra fuel. Economic speed would also increse with approximately one knot.

translation: No, the 30 is a boat considerably more like what spirit needs than the 25. By the way, the successor of 25 was the Bonum 255 technologies. Again, Here

Beatiful boats, functional, perfects for my taste and quite expensive for my wallet. If I can afford I will like any one of this, makes sense the investiment.

My first boat I mentioned here. I think you don't read all was posted and please still in the thread before promoting the boats. This thread is about long range small powerboat, ocean capable.
Re read my posts, I just was supporting your boats as an option too as many others available. Also I liked your facebook page. Personally- in other less humble words- I don't like this aluminium boats for being too complex and too expensive, but somebody else can do and is your market. If you need to sale boats is ok. The Albin looks better and is cheaper, but polyester. When we think in power vs. sail, I prefer the simplicity in powerboats, and I don't like complications. For complications I can put sails.
We are talking about economy, miles per galon, and boat designs and build, specially to build. Much boats can do same or better, as I tell a few posts back, but now we know your boats. Thank you very much for posting, nice boats mate, is already done.
When somebody bring me advice before knowing what I wrote before, and when I was being just polite, I can suppose is just prejudice. But I bring you the benefit to think your english is worst than mine.
I liked your country, in some senses. Also I meet much germans all around the world.

I would like to visit Uruguay someday. By boat. In particular, the mesopotamia plain and look for evidence of Atlantis.

Had an earlier thread about the possibility but it devolved and went off into spiteful arguments on other topics.

You are very wellcomed here in Montevideo, Yobarnacle. I been in the Argentinian Mesopotamia, and up the river to Paraguay. Also I been in Mato Grosso in the Brazilian Pantanal.
To go up river the currents can be as six knots in some parts, but is nice country sight. Also in some parts north of Argentina at night piracy from canoes but ever can sleep at day or be pulled by a barge the whole night.
I can show you how to catch the local alligators, piranhas and how to take care about jaguars, this in the very north. Here in the south and in Uruguay the weather is cooler and very urbanizated.
Last week I posted in Facebook about some small statues from Ecuador exactly as the old Sumerians. Some anthropologists still thinking out of the box for the dogmas of official science and is almost sure the Incas and all pre columbian civilizations have more or less influence of the ancient civilization near the mount Ararat. About Atlantis I don't know, but I will read the link.

    rustybarge Cheetah 25' Powercat.

Regarding the smallest seaworthy hull that Is capable of crossing oceans, have a look at the Drascombe type hull forms, originally from Cornwall in England.

This design is still manufactured, and has a built in outboard well in the transom to take a small auxiliary OB. Although it is a sailboat, it is also a motorsailer.

It uses loose footed sails with no boom, so it would work as a motorsailer very well.
You could use a diesel outboard to power it; look on forum under outboards........

This type of boat has crossed all the oceans of the world.

I'm not suggesting you should get this particular boat, just an idea of what makes a seaworthy small boat of about 21' long.........

I absolutelly agree with you. My former boat was 19 feet -I mentioned 18 but was wrong- and quite able with a very small outboard. The only problem in a short powerboat this size, the economic speed is around 4 knots. The only reason for a longer boat -the Drascombes are ok, specially the longers- is to have an economic speed arount five knots to six, below 1.34 froud number. Good post mate.

I can confirm that this boat cruises at 7 kts with just 6hp!!!

Design notes from the original designer: http://www.drascombe-association.org.uk/articles/Lugger.pdf

Owners say once on course this boat tracks straight and true with no rudder input even in choppy conditions.

How about stretching this design to 27'.........
This gives you an idea of scale:

Yes I no doubt about speed, my boat was able of doing seven knots just trimming bow down with the 4.5 hp. This boats go over hull speed.
But economic speed is below hull speed, anyway I don't know properly, just speculating.
