Had to close my doors (dirtybirdboats.com), so now I'm liquidating what's left. I have a complete set of molds for both the upper/lower hull, bucket seats, Parameter ring (used to keep lower hull from flexing while floors are drying in the lower hull). Also included will be a custom built(and padded) lower hull dolly and upper hull dolly that will make laying floors and doing wiring a snap! These molds are top of the line and only had a couple of hulls ran through them and could easily handle another 200 no problem. Way too much to describe, better to contact me directly so I can explain in detail. If your toying with the idea of starting a custom boat business then here you go, all the hard work has been done...passed all Coast Guard certifications with flying colors..All together I have about close to $18k into everything would like to get at least half my investment back...taking offers. Will be posting more pics next week..thanks for looking

Did you try posting this over at the Performance Boat or Hot Boat forums? I know that there is a lot of interest in these little speedboats there. IIRC the web host of PB owns one....

Reduced the price on the molds ($5k), need to find them a good home. They will also include assembly dollies for ease of maneuverability as well as what I like to call a "parameter ring" that is used to maintain the lower hull shape when installing floors and prevent distortion while the floors dry...all included for the lowered price!

The molds are only 13ft long, steel would be mass overkill, especially considering how stout the molds are. We had the molds built so that they could EASILY have a couple hundred hulls put through them. They are reinforced very well. You must not have read the thread very well, the "makeshift" dollies you speak of are very well built and it comes with two dollies, seat mold and "parameter ring". As with anything custom, everything has to be "makeshift" as you put it as I couldn't just call a company an order what I needed...hence the term "custom". Also I have well over 17k invested into these molds and accessories so I feel the price I'm asking is QUITE fair. If it was your money invested into such a project I think you would have a similar outlook.... but it's easy to arm-chair quarterback when it's not your skin in the game...

If you have over 17k invested in that little bit of fiberglass, you were robbed. At the most with left overs you would use 2 drums of resin, 2 rolls of mat and 5 gallons or green tooling gel. That's about 3k in materials, and you don't have that much invested in materials. May you spent to much for the boat you splashed.

Everybody has their opinion, but I'd put my quality up against the best boats out there, and quality doesn't come cheap. This wasn't some half-*** little boat that I just "slapped" together! I have several years in development and prototyping to work out all the kinks. If it were just that easy and CHEAP(you obviously haven't priced "QUALITY" materials in a while), "EVERYBODY" would be doing it. Using your logic I suggest you go to a new car dealer and offer them 10k for a new car seeing as they only probably have that much(or less) in parts into it and see how far that gets you lol..Bottom line considering I'm including Everything that goes along with the molds, dollies, custom lifting straps, Motor stand and lifting ring(Mercury), tons of spare parts, patterns, etc., and that the fact it's a Coast Guard Certified design(which is a huge PIA to get done), I think it's a stealing deal!

Did you crosspost this at the Performance Boats and River Dave's Place forums yet? I know River Dave owns a mini boat like what you have and is very upbeat about it and them.

Yea, I've not only priced them I've paid them. A roll of mat is cheap, about $150.00, a roll of 1708 is around $600.00 , a roll of Vector ply is around $700.00 this all depends on actual weight. A drum of tooling is around $1,000.00 5 gallons of red tooling gel, again right around $500.00. Cheap *** empty cardboard toobs like you have, FREE. I'm guessing you were lost at Vector Ply. No steel framing on the molds = cheap molds. No casters, there again cheap molds.

All the gelcoat colors are custom matched to the car(real pain in the ***)..I didn't just go buy some "red" gel lol. You also seem to forget all the other stuff I'm including with the molds(I'm sure by choice)..Well I look forward to seeing YOUR boat line when it hits the market.....
Always gonna be player haters out there...appreciate the bumps your giving me though as I already have two guys interested in my molds lol...

Interested and cash in pocket are two different things. Here, pic's of real molds, they cost me 7k last year. Like I said, you were lost at the VECTOR PLY.
