    An interesting question. I would expect when those who have built the things wade in it will be a matter of the relative displacement of the amas to the main hull where boats at either extreme are clearly of one or the other type but not so clear which they are in between. From what I've been able to read so far I SUSPECT there may be difference as consequence between how these roll: the more extreme stabilized monohull having a longer roll period, possibly amplitude as well, than a true trimaran.

    Btw, I really like Adastra and respect the choices made to achieve economy of a still nice cruising speed over absolute speed.
