When I was doing criteria analysis in maxsurf, a problem"No suitable freeboard points found" always occur. I'm new to maxsurf. anyone know how to solve this problem?

Is that the EXACT error message?

It shows in every error. There are not only one error occurs, but everyone will followed by no sufficient freeboard points found

There no manual that you can refer to for this problem when you purchased this program in order to get the program working again, also have you tried contacting the makers of the program and asking them for help as well?

Nope not yet. This is the school software and I'm just started and have worked on it for a few days. Quite time consuming progress. and today it comes out a problem "Upper heel angle bound less than lower bound" when I was doing equalibrium analysis. Is it a program problem or I can solve it manually?

I also work with MaxSurf and I also happen to me those things.
When that occurs, in general, this is an user mistake. But there is no way of knowing. The program is very good but is totally inaccessible and its support system is very bad. On several occasions I have had to redo the model to overcome the problem. It was my mistake, I followed without knowing, and that the program has not cleared me.
It may be, for example, the frame of reference is defined incorrectly, or that the margin line is wrong and in that case, you have to list the points and correct them by hand.
Anyway, this program has a very very big problem: make the model with it is almost impossible. Everyone uses other programs to model and export it to MaxSurf. That, in my opinion, is inadmissible.

Yeah exactly, what a time consuming process..sick of it.. I've spent lots of my time doing with it but most of the time is just struggling with the error. Now when I'm doing damage stability analysis and try to generate the floodable length curve, I couldn't define the bulkhead, the bulkhead window is just inactived and it comes out the whole vessel is just a single compartment. Do you know how to solve this?

I think that to do the study of floodable length you donĀ“t need to defined compartments. It is precisely after such a study as you can situate the watertight bulkheads.

Yeah.. but how to see is the compartment triangle within the allowable length if I dont define the bulkhead?

Edolyi, I'm talking about the floodable length when the damage stability is calculated by the deterministic method (I've never calculated by the probabilistic method). I do not know if you mean the same.
Attached is an example. Once calculated curves for 2 or 3 different permeabilities, you have to put your boat's profile and, now, place the bulkheads that define compartments. The midpoint of each compartment, led to the corresponding permeability curve, determines whether the expected length for the same is correct.

Oh yeah brilliant, that's also a way to determine the floodable length. I was thinking about whether the software can put the compartment triangle and floodable length together to see whether the compartment meet the requirement directly from the graph. In the attached file, graph 1 is my floodable length curve and the compartment, table1 is the bulkhead window, which cant be actived and as you can see there's only one compartment in table1. and the below graph2 is the example and table two is the example bulkhead window. as you can see in the example he determined the bulkhead first and in the floodable length curve the software autometically matches the compartments and floodable length together. What I'm confused is how come my bulkhead window is unable to be actived, I'm also thinking about to put my compartment triangle and floodable length together

For now I know not how to resolve your question but I'll think about it and if I think of anything worthwhile, I'll tell you.
