The boat in the fore ground is very similar, but something looks out of proportion to mine. My boat is 22' OAL. With a near 80" beam. I just counted the 2x6's on the dock beside it and near the transom the picture gets a little fuzzy but there are over 40 of them so that is close enough to 22'

I just checked the weight of a 90hp Merc like the one in the pic, it says there lightest model is 375lbs dry. My 60 Evinrudes I believe we're 234lbs a piece, so that's 460lbs dry. Now remove that weight of the stern move it in the boat a foot more to the bow and add two adult males to it and you have the Diesel engine. Now glass in the rear o/b cutout bringing the transom up to the 24-30" whatever gunwhale(I have to measure to get an exact measurement, sorry) and do you still think these boats can't carry the diesel. Wow that's what they look like all nicely painted.

That weight is for the entire outboard.

Whats it going to weigh for a 5.9 or 7.3, engine cradle, transmission, shafts, propellor, etc.
    It's going to be heavy.
    And still fuel to consider.

At least with the cummins, there is a lot of cheap modifications to get it to spin up faster, but I'm thinking 4000 RPM will kill it sooner than later, even if you throw a bunch of parts in it. Guys that run them like that in trucks, run them that high occasionally, you will be running it steady more or less.

I honestly think it's a bad idea, it will take up so much room and payload, that the boat won't be good for much except sounding awesome, and leaving a massive wake behind it lol.

I think parkland has got this one right, it just isn't the right fit at all.

You were going to put the Cummins or the Powerstroke into a boat like the previous pictures?

I think his has the controls and stuff in a different spot, but basically same hull, same design.

I don't think it's a great idea, but it sounds more of a fun project than anything, so it should work to some degree.

With the engine and equipment, there won't be much room left over lol.
