    hello,

I live on a island in lake nicaragua and i am looking for a plan for a 40 to 50 foot sailing trimaran i can use for live aboard and to transport passengers on a daytrip to a nearby national park. I like to have deckspace for at least 20 seats and 2 cabins with heads. The draft with the load can not be more than 4 foot. Does anyone now a existing plan i can use to meet this needs.:?:

    Hi trimi,
    this could match your requirements:

    Tristar 50

I never sailed one but I read a lot about the good quality of the Horstmann design.

    Happy sailing

    Corley epoxy coated

For daysailing most of Kurt Hughes trimarans in the size range you have mentioned could fit the criteria you require. It's mostly a matter of working out how much payload you need and what safety equipment you will be required to meet in you chosen operational area. I've found Kurt to be very accommodating as far as customizing a design to fit your requirements.

Consider a cat too - a large cockpit is easier to design in and it will be cheaper and faster to build than the tri.
