    Clipper crewman washed overboard

The recent Sydney-Hobart reminded us how dangerous offshore racing can be, but we always hope that everyone will come back in one piece.

Back in Australia, the wild rising weather off Tasmania continues, with a Clipper crewman washed overboard and one of the boats pulling out of the race to the Gold Coast because of a dodgy deck fitting. Those westerlies just keep blowing at gale force.
Ben the crewman who broke his ankle during the Sydney-Hobart and had to endure eight hours of agony lying in a bunk with one foot pointing down and one down said it was bad enough being below in those seas when fully fit, so doing it with your legs tied together to protect the injured ankle was like being in hell below MSLD.

Well I'll take the more informed and interesting posts from the guy with the -47 rep over say the regurgitation of press releases by someone with a 1100 reputation any day of the week.

Reputation points are like High School Prom Queen voting... Do you really want to be the winner now that you are an adult?
