We sealed it inside with marine spar varnish and outside with fiberglass resin. If I had it to do over I think I would use the spar varnish inside and out. The epoxy resin in the fiberglass is a rather high maintenance finish.

Under the bow, we have 8 inches of closed cell Styrofoam. Under the rear seat we have an 8 inch layer and an 8 inch thick side layer. It passed USCG inspection like a breeze. They found the "lil ship" to be quite entertaining with all of it's amenities.:p

Thanks Petros. I really like the one they call Parti-O. Mine would be a little simpler. I would want a bigger front deck for fishing off of and a smaller cabin. I'd only need enough room to pitch a couple cots and stow a cooler. A friend of mine, my wife and I own property at a lake resort. The shanty would be primarily for night fishing. My property doesn't contact with the lake so I can't build a dock. The shanty was a second choice idea. I will just use my boat (larger jon not the one we built) to pull it around. It has to be trailer able because I can't leave it on the water when I leave the resort.
