Here are some questions for you.
Which Orange County? New company or established? Builder or design firm? Size of company? Government clients, recreational or both?

Orange County, CA. (Anaheim) very well established company (50yrs +), built many boats, most recently mostly for military customers but some commercial (no recreational boats in the last 15years)

I'm interested in your position. I have a masters degree in mechanical engineering (graduating this month) and structural composites experience from a top aerospace company. I've also worked in hydrodynamic design and tow-tank testing for the Navy, and I hold a secret security clearance if that helps. I don't have formal naval architecture training though. Would you still be interested in considering me for this position?

    Candidature

My name is Simone Milenati and I graduated in July 2007 (in Italy) in Industrial Design with the highest grades. In the past years I have dedicated myself to studying yacht design, and I got a post graduate course in Yacht Design in May 2011 (I° level Master Degree). I have been able to practice my skills working with a prestigious naval roman architect (who was also the supervisor of my thesis), in an italian custom yacht shipyard (Adriasail) and in a company that performs an high-level structural design in the naval field (AMS-Italia). Hoping to be introduced in your reality or start a collaboration with VAT number, I am at your disposal for any clarifications.

    Hello folks,

why don't you send your enquiries and offers at Mudsailor's private e-mail or via the BD.net private-messaging system? You can find all the buttons and links here: http://www.boatdesign.net/forums/profile/mudsailor.html

I mean, rather than going through this public rejection process, which I find a bit sad and degrading... It looks like to me like a kind of Big Brother TV show with a job as the final reward for the winner.

I really wanted to avoid the public rejection part as well, that's why I very clearly listed the requirements and I have received some private messages from qualified candidates (and I have responded the same way) some people are not set up to receive PM's.....

there is a job posting section on the Westlawn Institute of marine technology website for graduates and students only. Perhaps you could advertise there. I've seen many interesting jobs on there over the years.
