I too have a 1986 Imp 27 foot cabin cruiser 270se. Having a heck of a time locating the fresh water tank. I can run the water for about 302 seconds and then the pump loses it's prime like it just runs out of water, it was just winterized and mayne there is a valve somewhere by the tank I need to turn on? I can hook up the inlet hose to the system and it works fine of course because it has a constant supply of water, but when I turn off the supply is like to tank isn't thereis and it runs just long enough to empty out the hot water heater?

    86 Imp

I just picked up a 1986 IMP X230Z with a MERC 330 this weekend. I am in search of any Owners Manuals or other information on these boats. Searching the internet has turned up very little. The boat appears to be have all it's original equipment.
If anyone can point me in the direction where I can find any useful DIY information on the boat itself and the engine I would appreciate it.

    Thanks in advance

Being at the Lake of the Ozarks, you're probably closer to anything in IMP's than anyone else. There is virtually no information on IMP's on the web. Some was posted on the old website impboats.com, but it had a couple of failures, and I really don't know if any of the content from those attempts were ever saved. So owner's manual, probably not gonna happen. Especially the boats in the 80's. There was some sales literature about, but mostly for the 60's and 70's.

    Good luck.

Thanks to the both of you on your replies. I will read through these post to see if I can gather some info. As for part resources, I beleive there is a small boat graveyard (that is what I call it) up near Lauria that I beleive has several IMPs in it. Will have to make a scouting trip over there to check it out.

thanks again, I winterized it yesterday, so will have to wait until the Spring to get it out on the lake

My (new to me) 1969 IMP

I just purchased a 20ft 1969 IMP and I have a couple of questions. My best guess is that my boat is the Aztec model, but the boat has zero markings for name. The only way I know it is an IMP is the HIN plaque on the inside of the transom. It is powered by a GM V8, unfortunately the casting # is 3970010 which could be a 302 or a 350. MerCruiser Stern Drive with the old Kiekhaefer Mercury logo.

    Questions:

    1) Can anyone id the model.
    2) Where were the batterie(s) originally

Looking at my old IMP brochure it is a 20 ft. AZTEC Deep-V Stern Drive 20' foot Walk Through Cruiser.

Don't know where the battery was. On my Cherokee the battery is in the rear of the engine compartment up against the transom on the right side.

New to the forum, and new to the world of IMP boats. I picked up a 1967 Navajo V for next to nothing. I'm in the middle of changing out the transom seal and the intermediant shaft bearings and seal. Found a NOS transom seal at m local boat shop for $127+tax He has one more I think I might go back and buy it for later use or sale. I love this boat and can't wait to get it out on the water. It has the Buick 300cid 200hp. Starts up very easy. I'll post more pics of the boat as I go, but here is what she looks like before I started out. [IMG]

Here is a couple pics of it waiting for new parts to be put in, and the seats need to be redone.
