Could someone give me the run-down on tunnel hulls for a shallow draft power boat. We have planty of un marked bars (sand that is) out here, and the idea of protecting the prop and shaft during operator error, excessive wind blown low tides, etc seems worth exploring. How is the bow shaped to accomodate flow?

Have you considered a jet drive? There's a reasonably priced one at www.legendjet.com if your boat is the right size to use it.

When I was growing up Penn Yan was the best known builder of boats with tunnel drives.
