    Hey There

I’m looking at getting myself a project boat ready for when I retire but really don’t know where to start or what sort of costs I’m looking at. I have absolutely no experience when it comes to building boats so was looking at getting the hull made and from there I will take it over as a project. (Doing all the fitting out of engines and interiors etc)

I've been looking online at twin hull boats (Catamarans) and have become particularly fond of this boat I have attached on the pictures.
Any boat builders out there have any idea what it would cost me for a boat hull built like this?

I really appreciate any help or advice that can be given

    Carl

Funnily enough, you might be better building the hull yourself, and getting professionals to do the rest.

Paint jobs often cost as much as the bare hull, and require really specific skills and specialist environments than the average builder can offer.

Same goes for motors and electronics. You can make a lot more expensive mistakes with $20,000 of motor and drive train than laying glass in a mould.

Hey rwatson, thanks for the advice. I see your angle, last thing i want to do is invest in a big boat and it just be useless. My main thought was if i could reduce the cost of the building by doing alot of the work myself.

i can't really say much on the hull design but i do know that the hull is very fast and stable.

i do like the look of it with the wheelhouse. looks quite sporty.

from what i have heard from a local charter skipper he loves his boat. he's running twin 300hp suzuki four strokes i think.

i have just started on my own little tunnel cat project which has a similar type hull design.

    look here

Im thinking of using the boat to do ALOT of scuba Diving / Fishing so am going to need a stable platform to work from ;)

The overall look of the boat is what originally drew me to the boat, the more i look at it the more i like it!

The project looks sweet, have you done all the boat molding yourself?

as far as i know the boat is very stable and would make an ideal dive/fishing boat.

with the right engines it will do over 40 knots.

yes i have done all the moulding work myself.

im hoping to start on moulding the hull in a couple weeks time and once thats done i can then make a start on making the plug for the gunnels and wheelhouse which will be fun.
