I'm a catsailor. If someone tacks that far down to leeward on me, I say "thanks for the position".

Oracle is showing a brute force here. TNZ has tacked in front of them in an attempt to distort the wind flow behind and prevent Oracle from close hauling, but it didn't have any effect.
I would love to see the polars of both boats, based on speed data from the last few races. It would probably reveal that Oracle can haul much closer than TNZ, besides apparently going faster on all points of sail.
I hope for kiwis that their design team has prepared some news for the next race, or else they are fried like fried calamari. The current setup of the boat has reached its limits. Time for them to use the postponement card for the next race and try to, well - "regroup".

NZL was stuck. One more boat length and they could have tacked, one less boat length and their choice would have been to continue to the boundary. I think they should have covered when USA tacked.

This is the way it's supposed to be, tied up with a single race to determine the whole thing. I do think Barker has been overly cautious, but you can bet he will not be tomorrow.

Coming up: the greatest Americas Cup Race in modern history! The forecast is for too much wind tomorrow-so maybe thurs.
I watched the last Great Race when the Aussies won the Cup in 1983 and I was for them 100%!
Now I'm for Team USA 100% and I'm simply amazed at this comeback....

    ...

    Thank you Team Oracle!

I was hoping it would be like this,
    though it practically never is.

Spithill just said tomorrow will be 'the most exciting day of our lives'.

I'm travelling tomorrow, but I'll be sure to check in to some fleabag motel
    which has broadband.

    lol

Xarax beat me to it, if OR win this, Larry will say "screw the deed of gift" let's race 100ft foiling cats, bugger the 90ft waterline rule.
If you don't have enough money to come play, don't come.

Although I would prefer NZ to win, if they do I don't think they can match this event. Perhaps we will never see such an amazing AC, ever again.

Can all the detractors who insist that a close matchracing event can't happen in foiling multihulls, please stand up.

I measured my heart rate at several starts - between 112 and 120. My normal heart rate at rest is 60. This has been awesome, and the next race is going to be a thriller, either way.
