I guess a guy could go to church and pray that no tyrant using fear-mongering propaganda scares people into subservience.

No one's panicking now. Panic will set in once climates shift and food for 7 billion people becomes scarce and no one has a plan. Excitement will ensue when 100s of millions of people are displaced from flooded coastal lowlands or when fertile land becomes desert, and then migrate into other people's back yards. Grapes Of Wrath like, on a global scale.

Everybody seems to agree GW and CG are happening, the snag is about the cause. We here are a small representation of the over all planning committee for the plan to deal with the results of GW and CG and it's not looking good.

If it's man made, greed and self preservation are a big hold up for solutions. If it's all natural, it seems the best plan is to stock up, get some guns and prepare to kill some hungry people one way or another.

 

....or when the climate grows so cold the bread basket of the world turns up empty and the ports become unusable because the ice cap is hogging all the water necessary to keep the harbors navigable.

Most of us would not be able to see it but the time from the start of cooling to a full blown icecap could take less than a century, so it is possible that our children could see it.

That article is a bit misleading. The Northern Sea Route (AKA the Northeast Passage) has actually been around for centuries, and in the 1900's the Soviet Union used it regularly.

Neither Greenland, or Antarctica are in any danger of melting away any time soon. And as I mentioned above, the likely rise, if all ice melts is not he extreme we get from the alarmists.

The realists note: Greenland melting revealed Norse settlements that were FROZEN out by global freezing. And the explorers in the 1600's really thought they would find a Northern Passage, because they had heard from the Natives one existed ....

Is pollution bad? YES. But, why is Al Gore getting rich off of this 'crisis?' If he cared, he would be in China working on their pollution - over half the entire planet's pollution last I read.

Al Gore didn't invent climatology, and he doesn't dictate the results of its research.
