I mean that for small craft such calculations of stability loss do not make too much sense, because they have running trim and wide stern is getting submersed. Yes You can easily account for trim in Your program, but what is trim angle? Yes You can input trim directly, if You know the value.

For craft like tugs, trawlers - stability loss makes sense, but again look at Fn and running trim. The Nechayev method I referenced above is for trawlers with Fn<0.45.

    Alik:
Are you speaking about Dynamic lenght-trim-displacement ?
Stability loss due to waves motion, makes sence in ALL cases, no mind what the boat size could be.
It only has to be started from dynamic parameters.

A real accurate computation of all effects in any condition, can only be approached from FEM, and even then, scale models and channel tests have to be performed.

Exactly, from DYNAMIC parameters including dynamic trim, not from static wave that is a big simplification.

One more source: there is regression of stability loss in Delft series.

I think it is not really necessary for small craft design purposes. For bulker suffering from longitudinal bending - yes it is important.

I have to admit that the technical level this discussion has reached far beyond me. My great sin was to create "something", for a very specific calculation, a friend asked me, and thought that maybe someone might be interesting.
I step out of the conversation, apologizing and thanking some of you to encouraging me to donĀ“t waste time on something so simple and useless.
Nevertheless, if anyone needs more of me. in this sense, just ask.
    Cheers

    Apologizes

No, TANSL. you're not the one to apologize, but me.
You're right, this thread, has derived out topic, and changed to a kind of "knowledge match" worth for nothing.
Theoretical discussions are one thing, and practical work is another. I find your soft very useful, and am really interested on it.
If it can or not be applied to "collateral" calculations, is a matter of users testing.
The soft, as it is, is interesting enough.

Let me apologize again, and of course thank you for sharing.

    Kind regards
