How do we reduce skin friction ??

SAY WHAT YOU WANT BUT OUR FORE FATHERS in the late 1800s and early 1900 were a inventive lot !! more things were invented during that period then possibly any other time in our close history specially with boats and the automotive and aero industries
they were thinkers and doers and got on with it !! some ideas were absolutely brilliant and most not so but have we really come that far since then , sure the new materials have just made the early thinkers ideas come to life in a better way but here we are still pondering when is a boat planning and still don't have any answers that two people can agree with . stepped hulls we are still messing about with and no one has the Absolut truth of how they should be made and where they should be placed !
all the papers written in early time we are still having to refer to , to work out predictions of when a egg is boiled or not . while we are all thrashing about like beached whales people are starving and wars are being fort , China is now playing in space so the American's better make chop sticks as part of there essential carry on luggage next time they find a way to go into space and stop off at a Chinese mac Donald's for dinner !! don't for get to take some RMB with you to pay !!
