    But Vlad you aren't happy to help. If you were than you would have answered the criticisms people have suggested all through this thread. And your boat is not revolutionary, as I and many (often more esteemed) people have noted, and you have repeatedly failed to address. SailRocket is revolutionary. This boat has nothing that hasn't been tried before. I asked many questions, and you and Doug dodged them all, preferring to imply that I know nothing about boat design. Great PR right there.

    For completeness, those points were:

    Too much upwind sail for given righting moment
    Mast inversion problems with kite up in very little wind
    Boat seems like a submarine in actually very small waves, seemingly 'ploughing' in one of your videos
    Wings seem too short and too low (RS100 wings have same problem) and could flip you to windward in a roll through a gybe if a wave gets under them at the wrong time
    How does the boat go upwind with lack of crew leverage
    Does the step cause too much extra drag (as powerboat literature suggests it might at the kind of speeds sailboats operate)
    Wetted surface increase from wave piercing design seems to be pretty high as opposed to boats which ride bow out like Musto skiffs etc
    Why no trapeze
    Boat looks very fast in light winds due to light weight and big sails but very difficult to sail in any wind
    Boat seems underwater in relatively small waves
    Who is target audience

    Oh and another thing: when the rest of the world has realised that it is better to get the boat OUT of the water to reduce drag (moths, ac72 etc etc) why do you think that putting the boat further into a medium with far greater density and viscosity than air will be faster?

    Your basis for criticising other peoples' comments on the MX Next was that they had not sailed the particular boat in question.

    You referred to people "with ZERO experience in sailing the boat". You didn't refer to people with zero experience in sailing high-performance singlehanders.

    You referred to people who had "total lack of experience sailing an MX Next"; again your attack was against those who had not sailed this specific boat.

    You also said you disliked "(posters) feel unleashed to make completely uninformed comments about a boat they have NEVER SAILED. "

    Again, your reference was to lack of experience with specific design in question, not designs of that general class.

    You said "I'm sick of the self-righteous BS spouted by people who have never sailed this boat...".

    So you have cast aspersions on the right of those who have not sailed THIS SPECIFIC DESIGN to comment, regardless of whether they have or have not sailed similar craft.

    You then claim that your general experience in OTHER foilers (including, from what we understand from your own comments to have been an unsuccessful bi-foiler) makes you well qualified. Sounds a bit of a stretch, to be honest.

    You require other people to have direct experience in the boat in question to comment, but you claim that you can comment if you have experience of somewhat related craft. Seems a bit contradictory, still.

    For example, if you have not sailed the foiler Moth you criticised - and you haven't - how do you know that it has enough similarities to the boats you did sail to allow you do draw conclusions?

    And so we get back to the nub of the matter - you claim only those experiences IN A PARTICULAR BOAT should criticise it, but you have criticised boats that you have not sailed. Not only that, you took issue with a world-class sailor of a class that you had never sailed, and may never have seen.

    BTW the MXNext looks to be much more similar to something like an IC than your monofoiler does to a Moth, yet you commented on Moths. Does that mean that you would accept that an IC sailor's opinion about the MX Next is better informed than yours?

    1. I'd say 6-7. Lots of things still have to be optimized, but we have a very skillful team and moving forward fast.

    2. So far we are just learning the boat and making things work. For such a radical design the learning curve is quite steep even for skillful test pilots we have.
    We are putting Velocitec on this week and start taking measurements.
    As soon as we bring the numbers to where we like them, we'll make them public.

    3.mxNext is a challenging boat if you want to sail her fast. We positioning her in term of performance, required skill and price right below the Moth and above most hiking/planing skiffs. Comparison with Musto will be interesting and we are looking forward to it.
    Our extra advantage of course is the boat's novelty and looks. Most people dig it, some hate. We are not interested in pleasing everybody.

    As for your final remark - I'm not a defensive kind of guy. I charter my own course and I thrive on controversy.
    As you could imagine, despite its negativity, this forum is helping us. It doesn't matter whether you are getting positive or negative reaction. it's amount that matters. Cynical but true.
    Besides, I'm confident enough in our concept to know that some people who are criticizing us now will eventually come around. They are not against mxNext, they are simply afraid of innovation and change. As our ideas will become mainstream, more people are going to embrace them.

    Well done Vlad for answering straight for once. They're still not "your" ideas though...there is nothing on this boat that hasn't been done before.

    Every boat has a hull, bow, stern - mxNext has too. But wait a minute, ours ARE quite different, like nobody ever done before!

    Its a fatter AC with solid wings. So what. Every boat design is unique by definition. But very few are revolutionary. This boat is not. Modern, yes. Revolutionary, no. You're the one that's wrong Vlad. Again.

    These are, as it clearly says above, POINTS not questions. They started out as questions way back which you refused to answer. I then became suspicious of your evasion and they became points of view, or points, if you will. A dictionary is irrelevant if you can't read.

    If these statements are wrong then please justify yourself, instead of continuing your silly accusations. That is the nature of a forum on boat design.
