Volvo over reving

    Yup, the injection pump elements are, but the governor is a separate item built into in the engine block/camshaft end. Can't be sent to a "Bosch doctor".

    Baeckmo,
    Thanks for pointing us in the right direction. A faulty governor sounds like the most likely cause of the problem. My friend has had to go home for the summer to take care of some things and won't be back to the boat until September or October. I'll let everyone know what we find out when she gets back.
