Center of gravity of container

    dear all,
    I want to calculate forces that are coming on the conainer i.e racking, lashing,tenshion .compression, for that I have to fix COG of container , various classification soceties are using different values like 45%,33 % of height of container.
    I am intersted to know where is COG of container (any refrence for same).
    Any help in this concern is highly apperciated

    The reason for the variations in VCG,(assumed) of the container by Classification societies is owing to the differing cargo that is inside. If in doubt, err on the side of caution and use 50%.

    Don't forget to include the forces on the seating of the container due to pitch/heaving/rolling of the vessel itself.
