Its brightly you must write a code such as matlab for doing it.
However you can transfer only wave load in when you mapping wave load to APDL.

I am involved in a spectral fatigue analysis project and used AQWA-WAVE to export loads to a custom format. You cannot directly obtain the real and imaginary components in separate files as far as I know. I wrote scripts to accomplish that.

I had to use the STAT option to export hydrostatic pressures (the real and imaginary components are the dynamic pressures only). You can also calculate hydrodynamic pressure components using AQWA-FLOW.

    Script for genrating pressure files

    Dear Mr.Cwteebs!
First of all thanks a lot for your valuable suggestions and solution methodologeos for the problem.
I need your help in making a Code for my problem .
Actually my work is related to procedure automation of spectral based fatigue analysis using Aqwa and Ansys structure. I have completed the rest of the part, and struggling to cop this issue for a long time.I have checked aqwa flow applictaion, but dont undrstand how to genrate data using this application. Also how to use this STAT coomand. So desperately need your advise.

    Best Regards

Ship Relative vertical velocity(w.r.t wave) for slamming pressure calc

    HI everyone

My probelm isto calculate ship relative vertical velocity wr.t. wave . This relative vertical velocity is significant for slamming peak pressure calculation. if any body knows it , how to calculate, please answer

i calculate the ship RAOs and also also velocity in Z direction . but how to incorporatethis wave to get relative velocity

    best regards

    Hi,

You need to specify output of all motions in deck 18 to include velocity as well as output z relative to water surface (ZRWS).

Also, I did send you an e-mail, as you requested. Mine is cthibault@mainemarinecomposites.com

    Hi

Thanks a lot, i have send you the mail.

Regarding ship relative velocity, this is normallly the velocity at center of gravity point. So how to obtain the relative velocity of a speific point located anywhere on the shuip

Export surface elevation from AQWA to Matlab

    Hi all,

I am modelling a floating breakwater in AQWA as pontoon. I am interested in the surface elevation (pressures) at the lee side of the breakwater. AQWA shows some nice results of the maximum pressures (surface elevation), but I would like to import these results into Matlab. Where can I find the results of the surface elevation or pressures for each grid cel in AQWA?

    Splitting Force

    Hi,

I am trying to calculate splitting force in aqwa workbench

There is a subsection for splitting force in workbench.
When I put the number x,y,z coordinates and run the file I am not getting any values. I think it might
be because of SMF input file. I don't have this file so, I am not getting anything. I tried to put file on AGS in aqwa
but it still asking for SMF file. Does anyone know how I should created SMF file. I checked all the tutorials but I couldn't
    find anything.

    Thank you.

    Hello,
Did u perform any float over analysis? How did u model the deck mating unit ? How did u consider the damping and friction coefficients ?

    Hello,
Did u perform any float over analysis ? How did u model the deck mating unit ? I face some trouble in modeling the damping coefficient of the leg mating unit. I don't know how to calculate this damping.

    trouble in structural design

I am new in aqwa. i have modeled a vessel in aqwa workbench and it produced me contour of pressure on vessel.
question 1: Can I export pressure as a text file including x y z for each node and relative pressure? I am not familiar with aqwa line and aqwa wave, should I perform analysis in aqwa line and aqwa wave insted of aqwa workbench?
question 1: after performing AQWA workbench, a file named analysis.dat is produced and is a valid file for aqwa line. how could I edit this file to export pressure as a text file? aqwa manual propose PRPR command for export pressure but i don't know how use this command?
question 1: I could not perform structural analysis by following instruction below.
    http://www.boatdesign.net/forums/hydrodynamics-aerodynamics/fluid-structure-interaction-41995.html
for example can you explain about "structure_aqld60.dat" ?

    thank for kind attension

    Ansys Aqwa Help

Dear friends, I am new to AQWA. I dont have much idea about it.
I have modelled a TLP in workbench. I need to find the coupled and uncoupled responses of TLP in irregular waves. i.e., reponses with and without including the forces on the tendon. Can u help me out.

While doing time response analysis, is morison forces considered for mooring cables?...

    Dear Ahsan,
I am also working with spectral fatigue analysis and would like to know if you were able to extract the real and imaginary components of the pressures due to the waves. And I wonder how you extracted the mean stress of the structure.

I would appreciate it very much if you could help me, I'm very difficult.

    greetings!
