Landlubber people were sailing long before anyone could read or write and well before bits of paper justified huge consultancy fees .

hey sportfishing Dont worry some people just don't want to help, I have made many molds from other boats thats Radio Control boats, But yes you can do it it just takes time and lots of money, I would try to make some scale models and get the design down and maybe someone can help buld a plug with your input, I no its hard to make plans, as I can make a perfect boat from a block of wood, but i cant draw for s#$% so plans have to stay in my head, but dont give up. I would like to build a Aluminium Sportfishing boat one day as I can tig and mig aluminium.

OK sportfishing, you want to build boats. Just remember that it's a wonderful way to turn millions of dollars into thousands of dollars very quickly. As a good friend (ex-boat builder) said to me the other day - "I wish I'd gotten into something that people NEED!" Good point.
And there is some truth to what Landlubber said about dinosaurs. Who's gonna be burning 200 gallons an hour when it's 5 bucks a gallon and there ain't no fish anyway.
PS - average net for U.S. boatbuilders was between 8 and 12% and that was during the good years and after investing millions in tooling. There NO investment capitalists interested in that kind of return today!

Yes, it is, but there can be problems.

Don't hijack this thread, go to 'Fiberglass and Composite Boat Building' on this site and start your own.

But first, do a search there using the word 'molds'. You'll get all the information you need, fast.

Start a new thread (http://www.boatdesign.net/forums/boat-building/how-make-mold-16-boat-32840.html will do) and be as specific as possible. Remember since you are brand new to the forum, no one here knows what experience you have yet, what resources you have available, or what your expectations for the final product(s) are. Here you mention wanting to create the mold of foam; there you mention building a first boat of plywood and making a mold from that. Have you picked out a design - if so, post a couple thumbnails of what exactly you are wanting to build.

Check out Jarret Bay Boatworks build photos to get an idea of how to build a sportfishing boat.

It's not still going, the last relevant post was more than 3 years ago. The OP hasn't posted for 3 years. As the OP didn't have a clue, the thread never did amount to much more than "Where am I? Who are you people?"
