    Red,

I followed the link on this page, Logged in, it brought me to the final link and I
clicked on that link and the pdf opened up. I do not know why the difficulty other than many folks have setup new accounts and are reading the article. Perhaps there was a delay by the server due to the traffic when you tried.

Before going through all this hassle with registration, can anyone tell me - is there anything worth reading?

Registered, logged in, got to the page of free “Analysis and Comparison of Cruising Multihulls 2013” and the page is blank. I try it many times.
Logged in today, I get my account page, click on “Home page”, Click on “Free comparison”, taking me back to my account page. The process above is an endless loop.
In my opinion this free “Analysis and Comparison of Cruising Multihulls 2013” is just to make people registering.

Sent them an email, waiting for answer.

To me, it does not make much sense. Say, they use displacement from advertisement brochure to evaluate the parameters, but what is included in this displacement? Is it light craft, MOC or fully loaded? I they are not using equal conditions for displacement, all this evaluation goes wrong...

This evaluation is of interest only for those who dream of a boat but will never buy it, playing with Bruce numbers and 'Texel rating' (hell, I don't know what is that!) instead :)

I agree the Bruce number isn't worth looking at. Non dimensional and no length parameter. (Check the "speed" of a boat 1ft long, 1sqft sail area and weighs 1lb if you don't believe me)

But the Texel Rating/Yardstick is a good indicator of performance. It was originally developed for the Texel race in the 1980's (the biggest beach cat race in the world - typically 800 starters). But has since been refined to cater for larger boats. It is also the basis of rating rules used in France and Australia
