I remember seeing your video a few years ago - most excellent!

Did you ever consider rigging up a cable and pulley system so you can steer from the front? A simple "stick" on a hinge would probably work just great. I've got several hundred feet of 1/8" rope with a Kevlar kern and black polyester mantle that you can have for the cost of shipping. It would be perfect for this since you can roll it up into a hank and stick it in your pocket. Very light weight and 5X the strength of steel cable. I'll even toss in half a dozen miniature stainless ball bearing pulleys. I would think it would be about $20.00 to ship. The pulleys alone are worth $20.00 EACH!

I can see how throttle isn't that big of an issue...

I've been on the Pacific with mine, but I wasn't any more than 1/2 mile from shore in calm seas. The kind of weather you were in would have had waves crashing over my bow. You're a very brave man, no doubt.

We may need to start a new sub-forum... :D You'll no doubt enjoy this video - the banjo pickin' is sublime:

Thanks for your kind offer but I sold all my Myark folding trailer barges some years ago and started to invent a multi-function wrench http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3-EsetvqRg developing this in China thinking it as a stepping stone to later carry on with amphibious boat designs and manufacture in China.
I was pleased to see your idea and do not know why people do not place their campers on pontoons as you have.
Attached is a picture of a 10.m Myark folding trailer barge that has a Jayco caravan on top at the back of a lake in New Zealand.
On the front of the lake are caravans and campervans in a caravan park that have to pay fees and staked close to each other.
You are not allowed to camp around the lakes in NZ but you can camp on the water line side with the shore line to yourself.

I'm sorry I didn't look at this thread earlier, that is fantastic! The "camper on a raft" thing has been done and done, but that one is really well executed! Kudos!

One thing though, quiet about that "Chiricahua National Monument" thing, do you want everybody to know about the most beautiful place in America that no one's ever heard of? SSHHHHHHHUUSSSS!!!
