I want to build the ob 15 but need to know if the whole boat has to be epoxyed and glassed, I cant afford 7.5 gallons of epoxy, thatd be about 800 dollars, unless i dont use marine grade wood that is. So.. do i use exterior wood and glass the whole thing? Or use meranti 1088 and glass the joints

First, take a deep breath and pour yourself a cuppa coffee.
Now, time for some homework. IMO you need to look at more designs and try to understand their strengths and weaknesses.
From Bateau about their OB15 "The design is more a composite boat than a stitch and glue one."
Hmmm... sounds like it may use more epoxy than other stitch & glue boats of similar size?

Whatever design you chose stick to the plans. If you find yourself wanting to re-engineer the boat then you have the wrong design.
