Well, any progress made? Other designs contemplated?

Bernd, the question was directed at multiHen. He hasn't posted for a while and had expressed some doubts about his abilities.
While I have your attention let me ask a question about the ECO 75.
My wife is wanting a roomier boat for our upcoming retirement. There might be a catamaran in our future if she finds one that she likes as much as a mono hull. I prefer, and my wife insists on two engines. Either identical twins or a main and small auxillary.
It looks like there would be room for two 15 or 20 hp engines on the ECO 75's transom. This should be better than hull mounted engines for slow speed operation using only one engine. I understand weight is the enemy.
    40 hp engine = 100-105 kg
    25 hp = 75-82 kg
    15-20 hp = 48-55 kg
    10 hp = 40-55 kg.
Are twins a good match for the ECO 75?

I understand your and your wife's concern using only one engine. 4 cycle outboards are very reliable. 2 x 20 hp would be possible of course ( also for the weight). Consumption is an other matter. But two 20 hp engines use more petrol as a single 40 hp engine. I would go for a 40 hp engine and a small auxiliary engine.
If you can life with the bigger consumption go with the 2 x 20 hp variant.

multiHen, you still out there? Change of plans perhaps?

Suzuki has come out with a power package that would be perfect for my wants for the Eco 75. Very light weight, 44-49 kg each, and battery-less fuel injection! I think this might meet Bernd's approval.

    This could be a solution
