I'm not incessed with religion (is English your native language?) If you mean obsessed, I don't go to church every week or praise the Lord all the time. I don't constantly re-read and try to interpret an ambiguous, apocryphal book that's been around 2000 years. I don't post meaningless excerpts from it any chance I can. If you mean incensed, that's way too strong a term. It's sort of amusing, people talk cryptic, holier than thou hogwash, but then if you call them on it, oh it's so offensive, it's so rude to point out the obvious logic fails and weakness of their claims. It's funny. Why should anyone care what I say about it? Is it The Kingdom of Heaven or a house of cards?

Yeah, incensed, that is what I meant chief inquisitor.

    Greetings,

Thankyou Peter for the boat rendition. Quickly reviewed previous posts and yes, I made mistakes and didnt understand some of the questions or selectively comprehended what I wanted to hear especially Pierre when he was asking about waterplane and reserve bouyancy.

As far as adding additional height, like your ideas but think it would greatly compromise its seaworthiness (already accidently added 3" of hull height). It would be appreciated in the engine room but, the areas fwd of the galley its really not necessary. There is 52" directly under deck beams, so its enough for sittting, sleeping, storage.

The engine purchased dictated the design; requirements of proper engine maintenence, shoal draft, simplicity, seaworthiness, and low costs; along with my current understanding, limited me to what you see. Sails are still in contemplation but, final decisions to be made after its on the water and trials.

Making several posts, writing occasionlly gets deleted before its posted as just now happened, trying to remember what was written.

Frames you see in pictures are to remain and are already screwed and filleted. Three of them are water tight bulkheads and rest are accounted for built ins. No chine log inset into frames although to be built up with laminated wood between frames at chines.

Lofted hull numbers if anyone is interested.

sounds like he know what he's doing, sam. the way I look at it you going to all that time effort and know what your doing then buy the rated marine stuff not the rated house stuff. that is what drew a red flag for me even though I've used pressure treated plywood 67 glastron's deck/. filled the voids encapasulated it with 6 oz cloth both sides same underneayj all southern yellow pine pressure treated tight knots and encapsulated with 6oz cloth and mas epoxy on all sides. enoguh of my good stuff here and not to high jack the good reverends thread. I'll leave him to his delusions. real good point about the kindergarteners. I could care less what your theoretical orientations are sexual relgious or political just you know I have no biases like that.

Remember now regarding the keel, plan as you drew for concrete/rebar ballast.

When looking at successful DISPLACEMENT seaboats, one of the first things noticed is the lenghth as well as hull height in relation to beam. When you look at Dutch lifeboat Carlot, its right there with hull height 6/10's of beam. Many boats go out to sea with other considerations other than ultimate seaworthiness but, when it really counts and lives are at stake the Ark's proportions are followed even if unknowingly by the designers.

Whenever looking at hull lines, thats something i always do if for fun or learning, and especially in hull beam/height relation, usually its the height thats added for hdrm and that many times signifies that the boat is more of a liveaboard/marina boat rather than intended to go onto open waters.

Yeah, a great example of organized religion, the Inquisition.

Contrary to what you might think, I have no problem with people posting religious thoughts and scripture. I don't mind discussing religion, the indoctrination of children and the brainwashing involved in perpetuating the God delusion. It's an amazing, in your face contact with primordial human roots, like a 'Jurassic Church'. I don't object, but the moderator does and ironically, those that subscribe to the Beliefs do.

I don't start religious topics, but if you or Goodwiil or Hoytedow want to post scripture and religious references, I'm willing to discuss them and post my own 'scripture'.

    ..........................................................................

I thought the boat had headroom in the pilot house and the main cabin..? It's not impossible with none, but it gets to the back having to stoop a lot, especially if you have to carry stuff while stooping. You'll figure out pretty quickly which places you should pad to avoid headaches.

Will you have any backup propulsion in case the main engine dies?

What goes on the outside of the hull stripping shown in your photos?

Noah's ark is good moral fable similar to the Garden Eden and should be read, questioned and understood like Aesops Fables are. Not made into some sort of salvation theology to justify ancient faulty beliefs and superstitions.

What I find fascinating about Noah's ark is it's close approximation to the golden mean or ratio as well as other notable objects in the bible are as well that we have been given dimensions too.

Anyway, Mr. Good Will you should know better to bring religion into what is an essence a scientific debate. Science can't quantify miracles. Personally, anybody who believes the bible is the word of god and the absolute truth because that is what they have been taught about it is pretty freaking scary. Athiest can't argue with me about it like they do with fundamentalist pointing out the inconsistencies and contradictions with it, because I don't believe the whole like they do. That is totally superstitous me. People forget this is how these ancients govern their people and kept them in line and got them to do their bidding. Jesus Christ came along and contradicted all that only to have the orthodoxy come along an pull the wool back over people's eyes with their cleverly crafted theology to justify their worn out beliefs asnd pracitces. My faith is the real person of Jesus Christ not a book and sopmeones interpetation of that book or collection of books. However, you will find some support for your thesis out there. Just not from the scientific community I hope you understand. http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/102007008

Ahh ok then. You invented your own pseudochristian religion because theirs is too superstitious? You "cherry pick" the bible for the very small minority of parts which are not totally ridiculous? This makes it impossible for Atheists to argue with you, but still allows you to criticize goodwilly for being a fundamentalist. Thanks for clearing that up.

Here is a list of other forums where religious topics would be welcome:

Rather than bloat out the boat design database, it would be best to direct further religious items, debates, or arguments to one of these many religious forums which exist for this purpose.
