    Tansl,

I think so too. The concern I have is without the detail you haven't designed a chemical tanker, but a liquid tanker. Also a serious amount of work, but not the goal of the project. I would think a water transport ship would equally explore the problems a NA is expected to be able to solve, without raising the toxic issues of corrosive chemicals.

And don't forget the lawyers. They are a very important part of the design team. If you build a ship that can't work because it doesn't comply with regulations, it is worth its weight in scrap.

Of course, many problems, and the most interesting for a na, are produced by being a liquid cargo. But depending on the load was liquid oil, an acid or liquefied gas, there are very different problems, which must also be addressed, and with the help of other experts, solved a na. For example, the structure may vary completely in each of these cases.
Gonzo, after 41 years in the profession, I have NEVER seen a lawyer in the design team of a boat. There are many regulations to comply but is the naval technician who MUST know them, and project the boat according to them. I have seen many lawyers drafting the economic clauses of a contract, but in the project, I have never seen any. I can still discover a new activity of lawyers.
Not the same the design, than the construction contract. Do you agree?

    Back with the problems....

Can anyone please tell me which method will be the best for lines design of my chemical tanker? Can I go with the BSRA methodical series or I need to go for some other series or methods like Townsend's method???? :?:
