The simplest to live with is a genuine marine diesel fuel valve for each engine.

These will switch the fuel tank supply and return by just turning the handle.

Usually can select tank 1 or tank 2 or OFF.

There are 3 selection valves made also.(tank 3)

Each engine would get one valve .

When laying out the system remember a diesel fuel filter wants to be sucked thru , before any pump.

This is opposite most filtering setups where the liquid is pushed thru the filer system.

The reason is a pump will mix the fuel and any water , and the filter may not deal with the emulsion very well.

    Basic layout.

No fuel fill shown, No tank crossover shown, No vent system shown. Additional gear ontop of primary filer optional fuel polishing

Marine vent systems have a HIGH SPEED vent for refueling that is closed to run and low speed venting for operating at sea.

Two fuel fills are normally used for two tanks.
