50hp Evinrude Outboard

    At the moment the only part I would like is a workshop manual, but I need a model number and year for that. Undoubtably I will need spares in the future.

    Based on the information and photos I've given, it's been suggested that the engine is an 1994 E50RNLIC. What do you think?

    they were dead simple, hydraulic pump with some adapters on the propshaft
    flow control valve huge oil cooler and a pressure gauge.
    K&O supplied a chart with the pressure at whatever rpm to say yes its is making the factory horsepower.

    Sure --simple --its getting rid of the torque safely without ripping the engine off or twisting the boat of its trailer.

    If you look closely at the pictures the whole unit is clamped on the lower gear case so the motor could be clamped on a stand ,wouldnt have to be on the back of a boat !! :eek:

    This guy is right, the motor is from the 90s I would guess mid 90s but can't give an exact year.

    Its a 91 model. But its not a ss, st, or sx engine. Carefull not to over rev or rev until warmed up. Connecting rod lenght is much longer than the racing engines. It wont live long over5800 rpm

    All the race engines have the longest rods they can find.
    The part number for the 2 cyl rod is the same from 85 till the end of production in 2005

    I don't think it's a 1991 model, they all have the wrong flywheel, electrical bracket and cover, the wrong terminal block and the wrong power pack.

    But I have found on the internet what looks to be an identical model, except that the owner has changed the single dual coil for two seperates. It's an 1994 E50RNLIC. I've attached a photo.....

    aaah!!!

    What ever it is its another year older !! this past started last year !!

    no time limit ! just all small outboards are much the same and really never change that much ! Bits off one fit another ,:Dexact year is never that critical .
