Limit on lugging a diesel....

    Da Book for our Twin Disc , with a 6-71 Dd sez to go from FWD to Rev at full throttle only when required!

    The package was built for Landing Craft , and since TD knew this would be done , built the tranny clutch system robustly.

    going from full speed ahead to full speed astern is a requirement in trials for a new ship. ship must do this only once... in boats it's not such a difficult engineering requirement, but it's still a big deal. things tend to break. a robust transmission is a very good idea.
