Boat structure designing tool / detailing tool

Hi all,
Does exist out there a software which from a hull designed takes over to detail the structure and the building of it and then complete the weight and the stability studies in order to pass on the complete spec to a shipyard?

Any free stuff?
Are the classic CAD softs lead in this segment still?

Many years ago in my country was a devout farmer who, while he went to the holy offices, the angels of heaven plowed his field. The blast was so huge that it was declared a saint by the Catholic Church. His name is "San Isidro the Farmer." Unfortunately that's not happened again anymore. The short answer is: no. If someone were to design software like that it would be very expensive.

 

you can do you hull shape and basic stability in freeship - free
you can do advanced stability in a spreadsheet - open office - free
you can do 2d drafting in draftsight - free
you can do 3d modelling in alibre - cheap or creo 3d Direct - free (these will give you some weight data)

You have to know what you are doing and its not an efficient way to do it but it is possible. If you are designing steel or aluminium then your biggest challenge will be to flatten the hull for free, but you can always develop it manually in 2D cad.

 

Freeship will 'flatten' the developable surfaces for free -( unrolling )

 

What about surfaces that are not developable ? and will it let you export it? I dont use it but the way I read the Delftship web site you can only view the plate expansion in the free version, but not sure about freeship.
