Lines Drawing

    I figured out what I was doing wrong. I missed a handout we were given.

    We were given a parent form of a vessel. With that parent form (a lines drawing) I am to complete a table of offsets, using a ruler. Once that is done, I scale my parent form with my principal dimension and have rough points for my water lines, chine, and buttocks lines. Then once my table of offsets is complete, I use autoCAD to plot those points on a grid and complete my body plan and lines drawing.

    That's what I was wondering, HOW you make a set of lines drawings with just this...
    and no offsets. I imagine WHY you would want to do it is so someone could build a boat according to your plans.
