    pics soon

Sorry I haven't been posting, but I have been sailing and reading. Thanks for the input on toe in- I "think" the boat has better vmg up wind on the toed in hull, but the difference is small. I haven't had time to complete my a-foils, but I will before sailing season is over.
I have been racing in some very mixed fleets, and have been doing very well- the old Buc still has some wins left in it. This time of the year, we have mostly very light conditions, and the 24 is really fast in light air.
I will get some new pics posted soon, as usual, I have changed a few things;), some worked, some are are "prototypes" B

    One more month?

Our lake has been dropping quickly, but hopefully I have another month of sailing before I have to pull out for the winter. I have been sailing and racing most every week, and the old Buc has been doing very well:cool: Now that the fall winds have arrived, the old sailors (myself & some of the crew) are a little beat up- we are having to get in shape;) for a fast boat. It is fun, and I will try to post some pics later, I know we have been photographed by our competition:D
I re-did the prod again, and most everything else is working well. We have finished 1st-3rd in all our races so far, and we are getting better with practice. I did take last week off to let some bruises heal:rolleyes:

    Nice going Bruce.
Would you please post some sailing pics, if you can get them.:D
You would love it here, where we can sail all the year round and the water never gets solid.
I know we have exchanged our beautiful home on Pittwater for an equally beautiful home in the Blue Mountains----and I don't miss it.
But I do miss the sailing. I now fly R/C sailplanes-----but it ain't the same. :(

What a sad picture. I imagine it must be quite a mess inside. :(

Thanks for the pics of "Toy" Hielan. Just shows what can be done with a basic
B--and a bit of imagination. Not that there is much of the original boat left.

    more Bucs, and projects

    Great "Toy" pics, Thanks.
Hasyb, thanks for posting those. It is too bad to see a Buc that way, but I do find the mods interesting, and I especially like the traveler. It still might be rebuildable, and if not, the crossbeams, winches, traveler and other parts would make a great start on a new one. It appears that the floats are keeping it from sinking, so they may be ok as well. I wish it were in the US;) B

    results?

Does anyone know how "Toy" did/does racing? It really looks sleek, but maybe a little heavy? B

Any idea about the state of the boat now? It isn't freezing now, just raining... Where was this picture taken?

Of kan ik de vraag beter in het nederlands stellen?

I cannot find the info I am lookig for, but what are the dimensions of the bunks, metric, in a MkII cabin?

Thinking of building if the plans are still available.

    Kind regards,

    Hee hallo Sipke,

I have no idea in what kind of state the boat is, it may even have been scrapped by now as far as I know.
The pictures were taken 11th february this year when skating from Dokkumer Nije Silen to Dokkum. The boat is located at the Dokkumer Grutdjip bij de Stienfeksterbrêge near the small hamlet of Steenvak near the small village Ee.
last time I saw it was several weeks later free from the ice but still floating (barely).
Link of the place were the boat is/was, with to my surprise, another picture of the boat in, only slightly, better days.
    http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dokkumergrootdiep
If I had come across the boat 3 months before I certainly would have jumped at the chance to go after it and look if it was worth rescuing. Or as Bruce says scrap it for parts to build a new one.
I tried to exite other people of restoring a classic trimaran but the reactions were not in favor of the B 24.
There is a little wharf at that place, perhaps give them a call to ask if its still there.

    Vriendelijke groeten,

    Hielan

    Hallo Hielan

Well I might have to take a look. just new at this forum.
Currently sailing a Strider but taking a big interest in small trimarans. Especially the opportunity to trail whith little fuss of demounting looks nice.

Only slight problem is my size. Bunks of 2.00 m are minimal needed space. Now looking at the B24. I like it a lot. Are you restoring now?

We also looked at a Searunner 25 (way too heavy) and a TT720 (to pricy in respect of the cost to bring her up to our standard and also a bit heavy).

    kindregards, sipke
