Pedal Drive

Please forgive me if I am asking a question that has already been asked and answered.

I am in the process of building a pontoon boat for me and my wife to fish off of in local lakes and perhaps the intercoastal water way. I will be following plans I purchassed from RebelCat. However, I plan to modify it to use both ores and pedals as the means of propulsion (instead of a sail). I feel that I will have no problem with the PVC pontoon construction and deck, but am not interested in building the pedal drive unit. I have searched high and low, but have not been able to locate a complete drive system. Optimally, I would like to have a unit that would allow for two peddlers and easy retraction of the prop for shallow water. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There is also a very nice flapping unit, the Hobie Mirage drive, which I have used and is excellent.

(As an aside, people usually use OARS for rowing)

I apologize on behalf on everyone in the world who are unable to read a post and give a response that is even remotely close to the actual question.

I am trying to design a pedal system myself, if you look on google images for "pedal drive boat" or other similar terms, you may find images of other peoples ideas. Alternatively, there is a website (Recumberants?) that has for sale a pedal drive system that you can add to a boat.

Hopefully i helped a little if you are still looking for help.

I considered a recumbent, hydroplaning pedal driven canoe.
I think it's doable and would probably be the fastest human powered thing on the water.
