Well got the Aft hardtop done and in the process of installing. I will post some completed pic

Sorry, I cannot agree: It looks like @#$%^&* !
A little less emotional: Sharp corners and narrow radii cause stress points. It works in good weather (when no one needs a radar anyway).
I am sure you like your boat - is there any way of extending it by some 20ft to get the proportions under control again?

Well well Everyone is intitled to their opion and I can respect that. Sharp corners yes. This is a 80's style boat in that it is inherent in the design with sharp corners througt. To go more European I thought would look silly. I would agree with you on the proportionality and stability if there was no hardtop. Please note how the thread started. I am not a professional as yourself

My comment in post #11 is still valid.
Design is a matter of opinion, craftsmanship is not.

 

I have no idea why theory and reality are not the same here. It did have movement prior to the hardtop. Now to shake the arch you shake the whole boat. Wave duration on smaller lakes mixed in with freighters produce a choppy sea. Given this and the smaller beam on this boat it will rock quite a bite. At times some serious side to side oscillations. During which I have taken note of your post #11. I just do not see anything in which was described. Dont take it the wrong way both are vaild points but what has been discribed for some reason is not prevalent as described. Not sure if you two are talking about climbing 40 foot sea's. If you are this boat would probably not fair too well arch or no arch.

Love the helm makeover. The CF adds a modern look and the wood gives some class! Nice new gauges too!

wet feet and wet shoes on wooden steps is really dangerous !! what are you doing to stop skating straight down the step and cutting you self open on the lovely mitred sharp corners of each one of those nicely made steps?? Best way to do those corners is not a 45 but a double 22.5 degree with a wedge shape and gets rid of the 90degree knife sharp corner .

That helm upgrade looks the buisness, as a matter of interest have you had any problems with those indentification lables coming unstuck?
