The old engine was an auto engine and I bought a new recon marine engine and swapped the parts over including the intake manifold and that had a good few vacuum points that I'm sure I don't need so for the test run I just blocked them off. I'm a total newbie to this type of engine so you will have to forgive my ignorance.

Its ok your doing fine --That TCV can be removed and plugged . it does not enter manifold depression but the cooling water. It is no longer used for your stuff.

The TCV temperature control valve would allow vacuum to specific connection when the engine warms up. Some have variable control meaning that some would open before others.

Thats the thing at the bottom of the picture above. I noticed you have doubled back a pipe to seal it. Unless your using EGR or a vacuum advance and you should not be its redundant.

That manifold is a bit of a slug . When you get up and running and you feel you need more power we can talk again.

I assume you know of Roddley Motor Bradford?

Mind you it must have been 40 year ago sigh where did time go!!

You could buy a short small Block chevy for 300 quid. Not a 4 bolt though.
