hours to build a 5.5m aluminium kitset powerboat

    we are contemplating building a 5.5m aluminium kitset powerboat and would like to get an idea of hours to build.
    the design is a simple cuddy cabin version mainly for recreational fishing

    5.5m loa 2.35 wide

    very simple

    can anyone help

    Apart from anything else, unless there is an accomplished aluminium welder on the job, likely to end in tears.

    The only person that can offer a reasonable answer to your question, is a previous builder or preferably the designer. Anything else is just a guess. Building times can vary wildly, dependent on many variables and are very difficult to accurately predict.

    thanks for the replies

    we have two expert builders lined up to quote on this project but before we get quotes from them we wanted to get an indicative cost

    is there some rule of thumb for cost or hours per length

    we are based in rodney just north of auckland
