building a Yankee Pine!

I just drew what I saw of Sail102's drawing and what he has cut out and assembled so far. This isn't my design.
I may be off quite a bit on my dimensions (except for the 8 ft part I think) as I am simply going by the mkI eyeball and guesstimating (well...who knew that was in the dictionary?) on the width and height of things. I do know that if one sits exactly where one needs to then it would support a combined weight of itself and the passenger as stated above. It sure won't carry much sail unless it sails well on it's side but it should float and hold someone if sealed up properly. A PD will run away from it and will probably keep the passenger(s) in the boat and much drier. Personally I think the PD would be the way to go until some experience in building, sailing and a lot of reading in design has been gained.

 

You gotta give him credit for building a hell for strong boat.

Well...I could make an outrigger for it if ur overly concerned about stability

 

Update

okay, I have the main hull of the boat together, now all I need to do is paint it, and put on a gunwale(if that's how you spell it). I also need to make a step for the mast. I'm thinking about cat-rigging it. it'll be painted white, with the bottom painted red. I'll also put a few seats. anyways, I know I haven't posted in a while.
