Male plug mold release questions? Advice needed..

Took us about a full month (with weekends off) from pva to 80% fairing work you see in photos. We will surely try and do better than that for next hull but there are always surprises as you know... Trying to keep things moving along. Will be adding a member to team to focus on starting the stringers and bulkheads while hull layup moves ahead. The hull is a little flimsy without the bulkheads for support but the cradle helps. As always, Appreciate the continued support.

 

get the stringers sorted first and in and glassed then bulkheads!!

Is best to get the stringers in and done so glass is long continuous with the least amount of joins or if possible no joins at all from end to end . and the very ends are critical how they transit out onto the hull each end . What others say is over kill to me is just the most natural way of doing things to get the best out of what you got

 

Looks very good. Also laminate quality looks good on this picture.

Do you have a photo or artist impression of the final product?

Indeed for stringers you can glass over a foam core. For a light solution use UD glass on top, encapsulated in biaxial (+/-45) which extends over the sides and onto the hull. This also laminates fairly easy and quick.

 

Just a couple of points of interest
Do you always us 45/45 or 0/90 or in the case of two layers both the same glass or a combination of the 45/45 +0/90 ??
What about the uni on top sandwiched between in the middle of the layers or mixed in with then all ?
Would you lay the glass one side up and onto the top and the otherside the opposite way along up and onto the top so with each single side layer you get a double up on top??

Also bog corner coves a yes or no ??
if yes what sort of a dia radius ?
and if no why ??
does it make any differance to cove of not to cove ????
