Thats awesome! Do u know who your account manager is? When touring our corporate side my brother and I may have been identified to your group as the marketing twins. Seems everyone likes to point us out when giving tours lol. Anyways I design all the werner literature that u guys probably see a lot of. I also do our fleet graphics, tradeshow displays and everything else with our logo on it. :) ask your acct manager about our saints game next week. I can get u tickets if u and ur fam would like to go.

I think it's Gregg Haas. I don't remember being shown the marketing twins.
Seems like you wear a few hats and they keep you pretty busy there, eh?

I would love to go to a Saints game but my wife and I just had a kid July 7th so we're pretty much trapped at home for a while. Thanks for the offer though!

Btw that boat looks awesome. I am planning a mini tunnel/hydro build for myself in the coming years. Can't wait to get it started.

I saw your last drawing in the your thread about the mini tunnel or hydro. First thing that came to mind was the GoCat or Cougar Cub mini boat. The smallest GoCat was a 13' or 14' and the Cougar Cubs I think were 10' long and I was thinking it would be the perfect boat to start from if you found a bare hull. It would save a lot of time and money to modify an existing hull than to create one from scratch, and takes a lot of the guess work out of it. You should pick one up and throw a jet ski motor in just like I am doing.

I have a buddy that lives in Lake Havasu Arizona that took a Cougar Cub and redesigned it and made his own mini cat hulls. He then sold the mold to an actual boat builder and they are now producing them. I can forward info if you want.

Those are both some pretty cool boats but part of the project I'm looking forward to is actually designing it myself. I have a pretty good idea of hydrodynamics etc to get where I want to go with it.
I refuse to go with a jet ski drive. Too inefficient.
Warlock, I was thinking if the boat does turn out pretty decent I could make a fiberglass mold and see if I could sell a few boats.
For now I'm going to build it out of plywood and pine with a fiberglass shell for reinforcement.
Crazy cool they get 50mph+ out of the cougar cub!

There are also a lot of benefits that come with a jet drive to though. But I understand props are more efficient. When you can hit 50 in a few seconds does it matter? Haha.

I think I know the company ur talking about Warlock. You should link us though just so I can make sure its the same one I've come across.

Added the rear rib. I had previously cut one out to elongate the recessed fuel tank area so that the motor could flush on along the bottom of the hull. I just need to glass it in now to strengthen and seal that area.

Cut a cardboard template, then transferred it to a 2x6. Used 3M 5200 Marine Adhesive/sealant and 5 wood screws to attach it to the stringers.

I know this is a small update, but we are back at work and things should start to come together pretty quick now!

I liked the look of the twisted liquid marine cats. That's pretty much what I'll be building.

Do you buy your fiberglassing supplies at Express Composites? And do they have a place to pick it up instead of ship it?
I restored a small runabout last summer living in Detroit Lakes and had to ship my stuff up there. It was almost $100 for shipping alone.

Yes they have a location in NE minneapolis. There is a guy named Josh there who always helps me out. Really cool guy and a wealth of knowledge. They close at 5pm tho so if I cant make it there before then I pay on the phone and they leave my materials in a place I can pick them up after hours.

My next project will be a jet powered mini cat. I love the clean look of having an inboard motor on these mini boats.

Single engine with plumbing or dual engines?
That would be pretty cool to see. I don't see why it wouldn't work.
