My little piece of peace

Just fired up my engines today mas . I have to admit to this being the first time this year. I even had to buy 2 new batteries to start them. Pre lubed them with the pumps and fired immediately ,--no heaters, the damn things try to fire even when holding the stop button.

Burst into life and idled at 750 I quickly brought them both up to 1000 and then 1500 and left them for a while. Went to the back and water from the 4 inch pipes and a howl from hell filled the dock . Nudged them to 2000 then 3000, you can not imagine the noise.

Funny that you know--its same when she is at sea at 3800 RPM they still make a low drone, Its like standing next to a Lanacaster bomber.

I don't need Viagri when shes running.

Yeah I know its only a toy but its my toy.

I must admit that has lifted my spirits and I soaped out the engine rooms after that and I feel like doing a bit of work on her now.

The graphics miss-out on all the 'tuna' being taken of the NE Coast by overseas fishers; all the Natural Gas being & going to be - shipped out of WA & Darwin; all the NG being exported directly out from The Indian Ocean; all the oil being removed fro the lower EA Caost line; all the coal, diamonds & iron ore being shipped out of WA.

Soooooooooooooooooooo the real problem is truely much much worst. But still a great cartoon ! ! ! !

What you get flows across the Indian Ocean and we get it in a week or so, unless a "high" pushes in and we get doldrums but cold weather here in Qld... Townsville usually has one cold day (well night for winter), and it is usually between 4 and 6 degrees Celsius at sunrise and that requires the high to be centred almost over Townsville - That is the window of opportunity to head across to Samarai...

Bloody shock to the boats system... So a years berthing fees to facilitate making a "revenge attack" of the sound of roaring RR Merlins warming up at dawn on all the other marina bound toys... What a shame and waste of asset value... A bored old fart should initiate something like the "Whitsunday fun race" where the winner has the best looking live topless decoration at the bow rail... Load up with all those "augmented" boygirls from your favourite watering holes - from a distance no one will detect the slight bulge lower, - and you will gain so many credits at the bars that you will be on free beer for a year... That is where a cat has it all over the monos...

Today is "put some fuel in the tanks" day as I have borrowed a vehicle for one run - now to check the bank accounts and assess how much...

 

Cant do that Mas the boat needs cleaning underneath first,--the missus is down there right now, I would be there too but I hurt my little finger last night. Then we will have to disconnect the satelite dish
and --and do you know how many ropes I have on her.

I think I found a small blemish in the battery box that will need immediate attention sooner or later.

Oh and I forgot I have 2 hose pipes to disconnect and coil up and whos going to water the plants.

Oh and I have no petrol for the dinghy.

Its very hot too at this time of year and I think I talked the yacht club into doing a 4 can bucket of beer for 10 ringet. Its not easy you know.

I have a good teacher of procrastination. Dont I?

 

Well I was working my butt off.... Walking around the boat-yard, looking at what others are doing and praising them for their efforts, Sharing drinks of tea, coffee and milo with fellow observers and pontificators.. No I did not offer "free advice", (I do not think I did, anyway). . . .

I did take some pictures of boats and stuff around the yard, and was offered transport to fill some drums with fuel and returned to stow the fuel on the boat (after pushing a fellows car away from the fuel bowsers as his starter-motor refused to function - but we later heard his engine roar into life)...

I now have 675 litres of diesel fuel and capacity to load another 480 litres and that will be about all I can carry... Oh and after stowing the fuel I got a lift back to the rail station, - - thence a train ride, - - thence a very long weight (to qualify as a plumber) - - , and then a bus ride - - and then a 30 minute fast walk via the newsagent to pick up some meagre lottery winnings to reinvest it back in the lottery...

Mas load up those tanks and get going. If this lot blows over to your side you could be stuck for much longer than anticipated.

Basically the indigeneous people are seeing snow for the first time ever.
I mean really - lions, elephants and bushmen - in snow ????

It looks like the poles are shifting already I am not a tree hugger (I am a piss cat that loves young women) but this weather stuff is soooo wacky that we are all going a bit dilly. We simply cant deal with this cold, wrong clothes, houses built for desert conditions, drivers speeding on iced roads, the list goes on and on. So - if this is what is going on in the south gawd only knows what is going to happen in the north when their winter sets in.

Find that island with the safe harbour, eat fish and bean sprouts, and go for a drink with the locals
Dont dry carrots - only if you can do it in the sun

And the economic/political situation globally does not look auspicious either...

I should be fueled up by the 22nd which is rent day at the Marina - I am tempted to stay another month as I would appreciate being able to fit a watermaker, - - - but money. . . . . . . ? - At this point in time I think I will move before 22nd. . . . I have about 15 water containers of about 20 litres each, so I may fill them with rainwater and go. (on top of the 8 x 25 litre containers plumbed to the pressure water system which will probably be tap water)... Must go to the Kubota tractor dealership, (not far from the Caboolture railway station), and get some engine oil filters... (S41t - That is less than 2 weeks away) and I have just written a lengthy "TO_DO" list.......

Ahhhh the rent expires on 22th of this month... The list is an "extractum digit--um rectum" or it does not get done

 

I can sell you some dehydrated water in drums.
It's far lighter than normal water and when you get to the destination, all you have to do is add water to re-hydrate it.

Masa - is 'N-F-A' got a new owner or does the 'car-sales' guy still own it. Great cat - it was built in my factory in Cairns - with a bit of help from me - fab boat - wish I could afford it. Ciao, james
