Did you ever see that show called Doomsday Preppers? They spent all of their time hoarding food to not eat, some of which they added to when they went on their weekly trip to the grocery store to buy food to eat.

They couldn't see the forest because of the tree in front of them. But hey, it adds to the GDP, but then again so does cancer treatment.

I don't totally agree with that statement. Yes, there will be hysterical people, and some will act very irrationally, but a large percentage or majority will be too scared to do anything, good or bad. Water? No because in the most densely populated areas it's fed by gravity, until of course the bulk supply runs out, but that could and would be rationed to alleviate that. I don't think that I would want it to be known that I even had gold, but once you try to use it for bartering the secrets out. Then you may have to defend it.

A couple of years ago the topic of martial law was constantly being thrown around like it was going to happen the following day. A simple run of the numbers for 2-3 seconds in my head dispelled that myth whenever I heard it. Basically, who was going to enforce the martial law declaration throughout the whole nation, in every village, town, city, county, and state?

That is why we all have boats... In case of rising water, I have scuba tanks to find stuff in New York City... What is problem? And it is going to get warmer so I won't have to worry about freezing winters or my water heater not working.

the REAL problem is lack of sunscreen when the arctic is a tropical sea and society colapses.
But, if we take a clue from nature, hippopatamii and hogs like a good mud wallowing?
With sea level rising, should be no lack of fine mud wallows.
    adapt. adapt. :)

That is why they invented shopping mall, so you can walk around in AC on a Sunday when it is too hot to be boating.

Who pays for all thus crap research? Why do I call it crap? Research involves having control groups. How can you have a controlled group outside of unanimous intervention as a long term study to compare your local plants too. Plants migration, LOL. They don't migrate, they procreate. I guess if they are procreating across the street they are not doing so bad.
