    Whacker,

My apologies if I am being a dullard. Is the Honey wax what you are using or a silicone free wax that you have access to?

    Yes, But...

From what I can tell draft hasn't been an issue, the problem was actual sticking to the surface. The first part pulled out easily, picks from the second part showed stuff stuck to the mold surface.

    Ondarvr,

Would you suggest using Honey Wax, for a first layup out of a reconditioned mold?

    Ondarvr,

I understand about the first release, but Whacker's mold appears to have very little draft at the keel. Better safer than sorry IMHO.

    Ondarvr,

I must be a dullard. Did you use the Honey Wax, with or without PVA?

    Whacker,

Draft is the angle, set back from 90% that allows an item to be pulled from a mold.

yes ive been looking at that and its perfect for a release, im convinced it was the gel coat filler, as there is no wax solution in it, which caused the gel coat to stick to it

Honey wax is an excellent product. So is Mirror Glaze.Using either should work with a totally clean mould.
