The US government is the largest employer in the US.
You will always have a percentage of ineptness and fraud. The BIGGER the government, the higher the percentage and easier to hide fraud, theft, and errors.
Simply based on percentages, the smaller government is, the BETTER, the less theft, fraud, and error.
Cut the government down to manageable size!

the bluefin have come back in huge numbers and average size is up too. 100 kg plus bluefin have been turning up in large numbers for the last 7 or 8 years. here is a picture i have posted before but it illustrates what i am saying. it is not me , i would have liked to have caught it though.

    Yobarncle,

I agree with you in principal, but is what manageable? What do you think it should be?

Apparently I was mistaken about Niagara Falls not being utilized to maximum.
I do make errors from time to time. My bad.

    Yo,

I didn't know about the fact: "When electricity demand is low, the Lewiston units can operate as pumps to transport water from the lower bay back up to the plant's reservoir, allowing this water to be used again during the daytime when electricity use peaks."

I do wonder how any other dams use the same idea.

The Niagara does flow from Lake Erie to Ontario, between the USA and Canada, not into Canada.

btw; I do strongly believe your comment:

"We DID rule the world effectively after WWII. Then we rebuilt our allies AND our former enemies and decided we didn't want to rule anybody.
    Maybe that was a mistake.
Should of let Patton go after Russia like he wanted to.
    And MacArthur after china."

Is a disgrace and an insult to all of our allies that died fighting the Axis powers during WWII.
Without their help, we could have easily lost the War, and lost OUR freedom.

As long as you are turning the clock back, why stop at 60 years. Why not go another 40 years and make it an even 100. Government spending as a fraction of GDP was only 8.1%

Now those were the good old days weren't they? Well, maybe except for the dirt roads, death by infectious disease or accident at work, institutional racism, and a few other small details.

Maybe that is just a trifle optimistic. The latest assessment of the Commission for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna lists the current spawning stock as "very low". However, on an optimistic note the report does say "the outlook for the stock is positive."

This is an improvement over a few years ago when the species was considered critically endangered, but it doesn't sound like things are entirely healthy yet.

I'm only suggesting we cut back to AT LEAST max of 20% of GDP.
    10% would be better! :D
Currently we have 40%. Talk about unsustainable! :(

    http://anepigone.blogspot.com/2008/03/government-spending-as-percentage-of.html

This is from 2008, but still interesting. It makes your 20% look more than a bit silly. It shows the USA at 19.1% ????????

I have not vetted the site. So much for random data.

    Yo,

Did you happen to see the fact that the data is from 2008, and that the 2009 number is an estimate?
