My port 800 stringer sterndrive has the older hydroshift gearchange mechanism.
I do remember when testing before installation, you need to create oil pressure with an electric drill to see if it will operate.

First boat trial yesterday - port engine stalled - in gear. Was it a bu**er to get into neutral to restart!

So, Is this an impossible situation. Don't say update to the manual rod or scrap and replace because it now all works well and I live in UK where gas engine setup spares don't exist!

    I love Cornwall.

Over ride neutral start so it starts in gear. This is nothing so radical.

You are welcome to visit. Shan't ask you any boat questions while you are here.
    How do I overide neutral?
