    Hello,
Does anyone know of any home study or part time courses in Naval Arch/Ship Science.
I have a degree in Engineering, but want some marine related qualifications.
I'm from England so a residential course in Alabama isnt really an option.
    Many thanks
    Mat

    Hi Matthew

There are links to most of the wellknown schools for Yacht design on this very website here .

There are also a large number of posts in the eduction forum about this. Read this information first, and if you have any additional questions please post the in the education forum.

    Good luck

    Hi Matthew,

There are a number of us on this site based in the UK who are doing/have just started courses at Westlawn or the Yacht Design school (Macnaughton).

These seem to be the only two schools who offer distance learning. I have been unable to locate any within the UK.

There has been a lot of discussion as to which school is "better" on this site and it seems to boil down to what you wish to get from the course and what your "real life" constraints are.

Let us know what you decide, or whether you find any other alternatives.

    Regards,

    Mark
